Something New

Ok, so this has been my customer update blog. But I gotta tell ya, it's getting boring. So I am going to shake it up a bit.

I'm going to make actual blog posts. About my biz. About my fam. About YARN. Here goes--

I have been swamped with orders lately (yay!) I'm getting to work with really cool customers, and use really cool yarns.

Right now, I am taking today to work on a special project for Maya. Lamar at ...a time to dye did a fantastic custom dye job for me and named it "Adoption". Here's what it looks like

I have spearmint trim that matches. I am making her a Big Girl skirt with a garter eyelet edge. I am only about 3 inches in. I would be farther, but I decided to do the garter eyelet edge this morning, so I frogged what I had and started over. To pair with this, I will be attempting to do a Marisol top to match out of the spearmint green with touches of the "Adoption". I am really excited about the set, but it's going to take a long time to finish, since I am squeezing in work on it between orders and swaps.

Also, I am doing 3 "shorties for yarn" swaps on HC. Super excited about those. I love working for yarn!

I joined the craft swap on HC too. I am doing a pair of shorties for my partner, and am
receiving a stuffed elephant from Hillcountry Dollmaker.

I am also delving into the seemingly addictive world of handspun. I have worked with it a couple times in the past, but I have never owned any. I am really excited to be getting some from 2 different WAHMs. Meridith of Handspun by Sweetknits is spinning me some "Cole" by Three Irish Girls. It's going to be a merino/silk blend. I'm going to knit it into a hooded scarf for myself (eventually). Tawny of Baby Bean designs is spinning up some Sweetgrass Targhee for me in "Burnished Copper".

I'll add pics of all this wooly goodness as I get them. :) Goodnight for now, I have a skirt to knit.
